Ahhh...the Wonder of it All!

The Yoga Buggy adventure has been so exciting lately.

I get to work with this great team of talented, passionate kids’ yoga teachers.

We’ve got ever-increasing connections in the community with hardworking, generous folks who want to help bring yoga to more kids.

It’s pretty much the dream here-it’s hard to imagine how things could get better.  And yet, with greater work comes greater responsibility.  There is more bureaucracy to deal with and I’ve been having a little time to plan the actual yoga classes.

The classes were going well, but were lacking the kind of stardust that I like to see when we’re really into our yoga.  Teachers, you know what I mean, right? When the kids’ eyes are shining because they are learning something epic.

So, inspired by Z. and his love for all things astral, I planned a class on the Solar System.  You might be thinking, the Solar System is an...interesting choice for a Yoga class. Aren’t we getting a little complicated here?

Well, I was trained as a Montessori teacher, and I have a special fondness for teaching Big Ideas in engaging ways.   Kids as young as five love Big Ideas. They love Big Timelines (e.g. the History of Humankind!), Big Debates (e.g. Are Zoos Good for Animals?) and Big Numbers (e.g. Trillions!)

So, we yoga’d our way through the planets, moons, planetary storms, supernovas and dwarf planets. You guys, it was so fun.  Their eyes were shining. They talked and laughed and did yoga poses and asked questions.

At the end of the class, they rested, floating backwards through our trip around the Milky Way, all the way back home to our beautiful planet Earth.

The Yoga Buggy relies on the generosity of our community to bring Yoga to more Kids. Please click here to join our by donation online classes. Hope to see you there!
